Workout Playlist

March 7, 2014

I told you I was gonna post something kind of stupid, and so here goes.  Currently this is what my workout playlist looks like.  I add and subtract things here and there but when I'm at the gym, I like things that are loud and kind of angry.  These are in no particular order as I throw this playlist on and let the shuffle button do it's thing.  Enjoy.

(I wasn't gonna provide commentary, but why the hell not?)

Run This Town (Jay-Z/Rhianna/Kanye)

Good place to start.  Kept hearing it in movies.  Needed to own it.

All of the Lights (explicit) (Kanye/many other artists)

Another fun one.  Surprised I liked this one as much as I did.

I Get Off (Halestorm)

The first of many Halestorm appearances.  God bless Lzzy Hale.

E.T. (explicit version) (Katy Perry/Kanye)

Yes that's 3 songs with Kanye on them.  I'm surprised too.

Poison (Alice Cooper)

An absolute classic.  For extra fun, Youtube the unrated video.

Breaking Inside (Seether featuring Lzzy Hale)

A bit more chill.  My first intro to Ms. Hale.  Forgot about this one until recently.

Empire State of Mind (Jay-Z/Alicia Keys)

      Just a fun NY song.

Dirrty (Christina Aguilera)

Shut the fuck up, it's awesome.

I Disappear (Metallica)

One of the best things about Mission Impossible 2 was this song.

Inside the Fire (Disturbed)

Sadly, this song is about suicide.  But it's a great fucking track.

I Hate Everything About You (3 Days Grace)

Getting in touch with my angst-y teenage years in the 90s.

Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay-Boom) (Shinedown)

Probably my all time favorite workout song & it's from the Expendables movie. Win.

You Know My Name (Chris Cornell)

I'm a James Bond theme nerd.  Casino Royale introduced Daniel Craig & gave us this song.

I Miss the Misery (Halestorm)

My favorite Halestorm song.  Just perfect.

Animal I Have Become (3 Days Grace)

contender for my entrance music in the alternate universe where I'm an MMA fighter.

Bad Romance (Cover) (Halestorm)

Takes a great song, adds electric guitars, and makes it better.

Hero of the Day (Live - S&M Album) (Metallica)

Love the live version because the crowd is really into it.  Great to run to, especially the end.

Separate Ways (Journey)

Can't have a workout mix without at least one Journey tune.

King Nothing (Metallica)

Just a powerful fun angry song.

Always (Saliva)

      Underrated angry song.

Enter Sandman (Metallica)

The most legendary hard rock ballad of all time next to Stairway?  I think so.
